Description

A set of digital patterns (PDF) that you can print out and use to make your own barrel and tankard props with foam AND a digital tutorial book of 28 pages long in which the full creation of these cool props is described with lots of pictures and tips and tricks. These are digital files, so there is no physical pattern or book that I send to you. You will need to download the files to your computer and work with them from there

If you buy these PDF’s, you can immediately download them, print the patterns and scroll through all of the tutorial pages on your digital device to help with making your own props. Some basic crafting and sewing experience is advised when working with the patterns.

The (cosplay or LARP) keg prop, which you can craft, using these patterns, also functions as a bag. You can also choose to make it without the bag function, so just as a decorative keg. Both options are included in the pattern set. If you want to make the keg just as a prop, you can print the first 4 pages. If you want to make it as a bag, you’ll need to print pages 5 till 10.

The other pattern is for a decorative tankard prop, to be made with EVA foam. Of course the prop is not waterproof if it’s made with just foam. It functions perfectly as a decorative prop though. Well, if you put a can of soda inside of the tankard, it could be called functional even 😉

The kind of foams that I used for these props are: Low density 10mm thick EVA foam and High density EVA foam in 5mm thickness. I also used foamclay to make the rivets.

The beer barrel and tankard props are perfect for any tavern wench, adventurer or other fantasy character! Because they can be made with foam, it can work even as a throwing weapon for LARP. If using the barrel pattern, the finished beer keg prop is aprox 30 cm high and 25 cm in diameter. So the bag will fit a phone easily and even a scarf, little jacket or other things! Of course it’s important to keep in mind that when making this with foam, it won’t be so strong that it can hold really heavy things. You don’t want to rip the foam.

If you’re using the pattern to make your own tankard, you’ll end up with a tankard of aprox 17 cm high and 13 cm in diameter (without the handle counted).
